The Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame & Museum's mission is "dedicated to preserving, promoting, documenting, archiving and permanently displaying the history of Texas conjunto regional folk music for the benefit of generations to come." Conjunto music is a unique genre of American music enjoyed by many--young and old. Other conjunto pioneers inducted in the Hall of Fame in previous years include: Narciso Martinez, Santiago Almedia, Pedro Ayala, Santiago "Flaco" Jimenez, Valerio Longoria, Paulino Bernal, Ruben Vela, Gilbert Perez, Freddy Gomez, Mingo Saldivar, and Domingo Peña (Avila, 2008; 8th annual Texas conjunto music induction awards).
Agapito and his family commend the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame & Museum's Board of Directors, as well as everyone who took part in making the celebration a successful reality and the hard work and dedication in carrying out its mission statement.
